Kaibab String Quartet is Northern Arizona's premier chamber ensemble for public and private concerts and events. Our players bring experience from internationally renowned concert venues to the iconic Grand Canyon, San Francisco Peaks, and the Red Rock country of Sedona. Our program offerings range from full-length chamber concerts to wedding and event performances tailored to your taste. We specialize in baroque, classical and modern styles that make full use of finely honed artistry and virtuoso playing abilities, and in repertoire that celebrates the diverse landscapes and cultures of the Colorado Plateau.

  1. Allison O'Bryant Violin
    Allison Unsworth O'Bryant started playing violin in Potsdam, N.Y., at the age of 6. She has a B.M. and M.M. in violin performance from Brigham Young University. She enjoys orchestral playing and has performed with the Western Piedmont Symphony, the North Carolina Symphony, the Tabernacle Choir Orchestra, and the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra. She has also played in various recording studios and collaborated with artists such as Josh Groban, Rod Stewart, Sting, John Williams, the King's Singers, and Richard Stolzman. She lives in Flagstaff, Arizona, with her four blonde children and handsome husband.
  2. Dave Koerner Violin
    David Koerner (viola/violin/keyboard) earned an M.M. degree in Instrumental Performance from NAU. He also has science degrees (B.S., M.S., and Ph.D.) from CSULB and Caltech and is currently NAU professor of astronomy. Koerner plays viola with Flagstaff Symphony and has been violin concertmaster for Verde Valley Sinfonietta and Orchestra Northern Arizona (ONA). He recently appeared as soloist with ONA in Vivaldi's Four Seasons. His piano awards include Los Angeles Concerto Competition, Joanna Hodges International Competition, and the Krenek Competition. He was principal pianist with Long Beach Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Murry Sidlin.
  3. Kimberly Sullivan Viola
    Kimberly Sullivan (viola/violin) is a graduate of Northwestern University and NAU string faculty member who performs with Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and is the principal Violist with the Arizona Philharmonic. She has held faculty positions at Indiana State University, Carthage College, and the Music Institute of Chicago and performed with Chicago Sinfonietta, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Ravinia Festival Orchestra. As a recording studio artist and freelance musician in Chicago, Sullivan contributed to TV and movie soundtracks and performed with Luciano Pavarotti, Rod Stewart, Dennis DeYoung, and David Gates. She secured a reputation in string chamber music as violist for the Lyra Quartet, a quartet-in-residence at Carthage College.
  4. Sarah Walder Cello
    Sarah Walder (cello/gamba) graduated cum laude from Oberlin Conservatory where she studied cello and viola da gamba before continuing in Baroque cello at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. She is the principal cellist for Arizona Philharmonic and has toured world-wide with groups like Musica Temprana, Krisztina de Châtel, Furor Musicus, and Apollo’s Fire, playing at a wide range of venues, such as Utrechts’s Vredenburg, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Alte Oper Frankfurt and Seoul Arts Center. In 2016 Sarah founded AZproject to bring cello performance directly to the streets of northern Arizona. In 2017, she released a CD of original compositions called "Cello Trip" and expanded the street project to the Netherlands as "NLproject." Sarah holds a degree in Physical Therapy from Avans College in Breda.
